Art Showcase 2026
A Midsummer Night’s Dream Inspires a Magical Whole-School Showcase
This year’s School Showcase marked an exciting new chapter for Forest Park, moving beyond our traditional art-focused celebration to embrace a truly cross-curricular collaboration. Bringing together Art, Design Technology, English and Drama, pupils across the school explored the enchanting world of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream through a rich programme of creative learning.
The project was inspired by new collaborative training with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), which saw drama sessions delivered to every year group at the start of the academic year. These engaging experiences immersed children in the themes, characters and magical settings of the play, providing a spark that ignited learning across the curriculum. From imaginative writing and performance to artwork and design projects, pupils used Shakespeare’s timeless tale as a springboard for creativity and self-expression.
A key highlight was the way the project linked to our annual Pottery Week. Drawing inspiration from the mystical woodland setting of the play, children created a range of beautiful ceramic pieces, including fairy houses and doors, bird feeders, bird baths, bells, wind chimes and decorative garden ornaments. These unique creations have been designed to enhance our new meadow-inspired sensory garden, a space developed through the hard work and dedication of our Eco Warriors and Forest School members, who have helped to plant and nurture the area throughout the year.
The showcase was a wonderful celebration of the talents, imagination and achievements of pupils from every phase of the school. Visitors were able to enjoy a vibrant display of artwork, writing, pottery and performance that demonstrated the creativity, resilience and ambition of our children. More importantly, it highlighted the power of collaboration and how learning can be enriched when subjects come together around a shared theme.
Families and members of the wider community were invited to experience the aspiration, creativity and sparkle that sit at the heart of the Forest Park ethos. The event not only celebrated the incredible work produced by our pupils but also showcased the enthusiasm, confidence and sense of wonder that we strive to inspire in every child.
We are immensely proud of all our pupils and staff who contributed to making this year's showcase such a memorable and magical success.
