Premises Officer

Premises Officer - L5 - Permanent

9.30am - 5.30pm Monday – Thursday and 9.30am - 5.00pm Friday

Forest Park Primary is looking to appoint a Premises Officer on a full time, whole year permanent contract.

Your duties will be to ensure the premises are safe, secure and warm to enable effective teaching and learning to take place by performing premises checks as required to be followed by completing the appropriate checklists. You shall be leading the cleaning team and providing excellent service for the whole school. The successful candidate will have strong facilities management skills and knowledge as well as people leadership. Working alongside the Premises Manager, you shall report to the Premises Manager, the School Operations Manager and the Headteacher.

Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant - L4 - Fixed Term - 1 Year

8.30am - 15.30pm Monday – Friday

Teaching and Learning Assistant with experience of working in EYFS/KS1 to work with teachers to support teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff. You may also be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan. 1 year Fixed Term contract. Experience of Talk Boost and Stoke Speaks Out interventions desirable but not required.

The children value this, especially the trips and how these experiences help them to understand their learning. Children’s moral development is strong, and all children develop a great understanding of the world.’ Our pupils are well behaved inside and outside. Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide learning activities for individuals and/or groups of pupils under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher, differentiating and adapting learning programmes to suit the needs of allocated pupils.

2. Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment as agreed with the teacher.

3. Monitor and record pupil responses and learning achievements, drawing any problems which cannot be resolved to the attention of the teacher.

4. Plan and evaluate specialist learning activities with the teacher, writing reports and records as required.

5. Select and adapt appropriate resources/methods to facilitate agreed learning activities.

6. Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.

7. Establish and maintain relationships with families, carers and other adults, e.g. speech therapists.

8. Provide short term cover supervision of classes.

9. Escort and supervise pupils on educational and out of school activities.

10. Guide and support pupils in their personal, emotional and social development.

11. Prepare and present displays.

12. Supervise individuals and/or groups of pupils throughout the day, including supervision in the classroom, playground and dining areas.

13. Assist pupils with eating, dressing, hygiene and personal care as required, whilst encouraging independence.

14. Assist individual pupils with any specific medical needs as per their care plan and/or risk assessment.

15. To assist the SENCO and be involved in planning, organising and implementing individual development plans for pupils (such as individual educational plans), including attendance at, and contribution to, reviews.

16. Work with pupils accessing a personalised timetable to meet their individual learning needs.

17. It would be desirable but not essential to have had experience working with individuals or groups of pupils accessing a personalised curriculum, as well as having attended or completed any courses or additional qualifications in relation to special educational needs.
