Learning at Home
We expect all children to read their reading book at home at least three times a week to support their learning.

Each year group will also have six 'Teach Your Parent' activities per term linked to their wider curriculum learning. These are to enrich your child's wider knowledge and support you with further learning at home and are optional to complete.

Reception have had a wonderful start to the Spring term following the launch of our new topic ‘Once upon a time’ where the children have shown high levels of interest and engagement exploring classic fairytales and adding their own innovations and twists to these stories.
The children have excelled in their expressive arts by re-enacting these stories using the small world and role play and have thoroughly enjoyed applying their new skills in independent play alongside their friends. We have also enjoyed a visit from Oakley’s farm who came with farm animals for the children to see.
Reception End of Year Expectations
This leaflet shows the overview of what your child is expected to learn by the end of their current year group. These are the minimum requirements to ensure continued progress through the following years.
