Learning at Home
We expect all children to read their reading book at home at least three times a week to support their learning.

Each year group will also have six 'Teach Your Parent' activities per term linked to their wider curriculum learning. These are to enrich your child's wider knowledge and support you with further learning at home and are optional to complete.

This half term, we have been learning all about different celebrations around the world. We have learnt about Diwali, Bonfire night, Remembrance, Eid, Chinese New Year and Christmas. We have learnt about why people celebrate and how they celebrate. We enjoyed setting up our role-play for each celebration and comparing the similarities and differences between each festival. We got creative and made poppies, Chinese lanterns and even built our mosques using junk modelling and construction materials.
As we have gotten closer to the end of the term, we enjoyed inviting our parents to our Winter Crafternoon session, eating our delicious food at our Santa’s breakfast, as well as visiting the real reindeers that came to school to see us.
Reception End of Year Expectations
This leaflet shows the overview of what your child is expected to learn by the end of their current year group. These are the minimum requirements to ensure continued progress through the following years.
